An Award With a Twist

I'm posting twice today because I completely forgot about this post

and, as all my posts are, it's too good not to share. Right. Now

Earlier this week I was nominated for the Liebster Award by the lovely (and hilarious) Heather over at Chronicles of an Independent Spinster. If you haven't read her blog before, you should! She is one funny girl! 

Anywho...she nominated me for this award and I was thrilled.

And even though I had already gotten this award (you followers really are too sweet) I knew I still wanted to give her a shout out! 

So this is it:

(remember, the game where you whisper something in your neighbor's ear and they pass it along and along until it gets back to you, only to be turned into something completely different than what you started with. yea, good elementary school times.)

Heather sent out her awards with eleven questions to be answered.

So here goes:

1. If you could spend the rest of your life in the city of your choice, where would it be? For the rest of my life, I want to be in the city I'm in right now, New Bern, NC. I couldn't imagine raising a family and growing old with my sweetie anywhere else. However, if I could live anywhere just for a brief little while, it would be NYC, smack dab in Times Square {as I talked about previously here.}

2. Christmas is apparently right around the corner...what is the first thing on your list? Ahh don't tell me that. I love Christmas, but I'm not quite ready for all the holiday madness just yet. I can't even think of one thing I would put on my Christmas list right now? Stay tuned?

3. What is your favorite thing about yourself? I think I'm pretty empathetic I always try to put myself in other people's shoes and think about how they might feel in certain situation. 

4. Have you ever accomplished a pin from Pinterest? Good question!! I haven't done nearly as much from Pinterest as I would like. But I have done quite a few things actually - mostly school related things.

Here's a few of my favs - Smartie Pants EOG treats, Krazy Kool End of School treats, and "Thanks for Helping Us Grow" teacher assistant gift.

I have tried a few recipes.

And we've used several of my pins around the house. 

In fact, now that I revisit some of my boards, I've actually done a lot of my pins. That makes me feel a lot more productive. :)

5. Where you named after anyone? Kind of. My great-grandma's name was Mary. But Mary was way too simple for my mom so they spiced it up and created Marianna.

6. Why did you start your blog? I have way too many thoughts bouncing around in my head not to share. I figured it would be a good outlet for me to get some of those thoughts down on er...paper? And if people actually read them that would be a super big bonus! Plus, I figured I'd be considered less of a blog stalker if I actually had my own blog.

7. You are on a deserted island...what three things could you not live without? My husband, my dogs, and unlimited cheeseburgers.

8. Do you think having people pay you to guest post on your blog is a good or bad thing? I didn't even know that was really an option? Hmm...I think a lot of people do a lot more with their blogs than I do (not to say I wouldn't want to be at that level someday) and I know that some people have made blogging their career....a successful one at that. I think in those certain situations it might make sense and be a good thing. Kind of like having ads on your blog...it's whatever floats your boat and suits you (because it is YOUR blog after all).

9. Are you a dog or a cat person? Dog. Definitely. See number 7. 

10. The opening ceremony for the Olympics cost $42 million. Do you think that's acceptable? Another good question. Don't get me wrong - I love the Olympics {proof seen here} but as soon as I heard that number I thought it was a tad bit ridiculous. I tried to get everyone else on board with me, but they all seemed blinded by the shiny lights of the ceremonies (which were impressive I will admit). But $42 million is A LOT!! Especially when there's so much talk about debt (that I typically try to ignore) but I do know there's a lot more that money could go towards than shiny lights. Just saying. 

11. What is your dream job? Teaching. Dream accomplished, I guess?
