One Year Bloopers

Some of the cutest newlyweds in blogland
have decided to start a month-long link up party
discussing all things newlywed...
the good, the bad, the ugly, and the fun-nay.

Cause let me tell you, there are some pretty hilarious parts to being married.
Especially at my house, where I feel like my whole life is one big blooper.

While all these lovely ladies will be celebrating their one year anniversary in June,
I guess I'm technically an "oldy-wed' as I'll be celebrating two years in July.

Either way...I still wake up sometimes completely surprised that I'm lucky enough
to spend every day with this man I call my husband
which is still the coolest thing ever to say.
And I get a little flutter when I get to put his name on my "in case of emergency" paperwork.
If that doesn't make you a newlywed, I don't know what does.

~

This week is all about funny moments from your first year of marriage.
As I mentioned above...my whole life is a funny moment.
Robbie and I laugh often - with each other, at each other. All. The. Time.

Even though we've known each other since high school,
we're still learning so much about each other now that we're married.
And often times, some of the things we're learning turn out to be quite humorous.

We usually don't go to bed at the same time, because we don't have to get up at the same time.
Normally, I'm in bed, fast asleep long before Robbie calls it a night.
I rarely remember him even coming to bed,
but he claims I'll sit up and have full fledge,
completely nonsense
conversations with him in the middle of the night.

I'm also usually awake in the mornings, long before Robbie even begins to stir.
I won't go into details - but let's just say Robbie makes some interesting, ahem, noises in the morning himself.

As far as THE funniest moment goes:

The first one that comes to mind is after we had a pretty big fight last year.
I don't even remember now what we were fighting about (typical)
but by the end of it all, I was locked in the bedroom
convincing myself I was going to stay there for the rest of the night
(or until I got hungry) no matter what he said or did.

Robbie spent a few minutes apologizing through the door,
knocking on the door,
jiggling the doorknob,
begging me to open the door

And then....there was just silence.

I remember secretly being pissed that he had "given up" so easily.
Until I heard the power drill 5 seconds later.
The little stinker, took the doorknob off to get in the room.

By the time he had MacGyver'd himself in the room,
I couldn't help but laugh - at the fact that he had been clever enough to unlock the door
and the fact that I had been foolish enough to think I could actually lock myself
in one room for the night.

Needless to say, it was pretty funny to us.
Especially when the doorknob wouldn't fit back on the door ha.

Hugs,

  2. That is too funny! And something that you probably won't experience in 10 years, so its a good story! I've had something similar happen to me, and while it wasn't anywhere near being funny at the time, I can now laugh at how silly I was!
