Wow Wow Wedding

I don't know if it's because of Leslie's Southern linky yesterday,
the back-to-back episodes of Four Weddings I watched last night,
or the fact that it's my anniversary weekend
but I have had weddings on the brain all week.

Yesterday you got a little glimpse into some of the southern tradition of our wedding ceremony and reception and a small taste of one of the best days of my life (I'm like a walking cliche, I know.)

But there was a lot more to our big day than the just the big day itself.
Obviously there was the year-plus of (surprisingly stress free) planning.
And the countless parties and showers in the months prior.
{We tend to make a big deal out of everything, in case you haven't noticed.}

Bachelorette Weekend

But the whole wedding weekend itself was magical.
Honestly, being able to spend the weekend with our closet friends and family couldn't be anything but magical.

Friday was spent with my lovely bridesmaids and very best friends at our Bridesmaid bruncheon (cause this girl loves some stuffed french toast and mimosas)

Followed by mani/pedis.

p.s. aren't my bridesmaids the cutest?

And then of course, the rehearsal and dinner.

(The actual rehearsal part was clearly soooooo much fun haha)

But the dinner was definitely a good time.

Robbie was in charge of the menu which meant we had fried chicken tenders and a macaroni bar.
No lie, it was all to die for.

We had super cute personalized cakes.

Yes, Robbie's groom's cake was a cookie cake and was ECU Pirates themed. Surprise by moi.

We listened to sweet words during the toasts.
Tears were shed.

And then the best part of all....

I had made a slideshow of Robbie and I through the years, baby pictures and all.
We started dating in high school so boy did we have some gems.

I give a mini-speech that goes something like this "thank y'all for coming blah blah blah, we love you lots, check out our movie". We turn the lights off, cue the projector expecting this to start playing.

{Cute, right}

Instead this pops up and the control freak in me (who has been really stressed about the technical difficulties that follow me around anyway) panics, only to realize my soon-to-be husband has done the sweetest, most sneaky thing ever.

Dislcaimer: we're obsessed with movies.

Everyone, and I mean everyone bawled.
I don't know if it was the video itself that was so sweet...
or the fact that he had taken the time to piece together all of my favorite movies...
or even the fact that I had noooooo idea it was happening.
(Don't get me wrong, I love surprises, but I'm really nosey and it's usually pretty hard to keep something from me. Robbie, however, is getting pretty good at perfecting it.)

We watched my slideshow afterwards, but by that point it had kind of lost its luster.
Robbie definitely stole the show.

Like I said - magical weekend.
Followed by a magical year.

Yes, I am currently living my happily ever after.
And no, I'm not apologizing for that cliche.

Have a happy Friday dolls!

Hugs,

Marianna
